Who Inspired the Legend
These Are some more legendary Jazz Musicians who helped path the way for Miles and the many others who came after them.
Charlie Parker (Bird)The Father of Be-bop himself. Charlie was one of the founding fathers of North American jazz by creating and mastering his signature style Be-bob. One of the best sax players to ever exist, Charlie was one of the first Musicians to invite Miles Davis to play in one of his groups. He not only inspired Miles, he also help put him in the spot light.

Dizzy GillespieDizzy Gillespie not only know for his amazing talent with the trumpet, but also his signature puffed cheeks. Dizzy was Miles's mentor and good friend. Dizzy noticed Miles talent an helped guide him in making it in the world of jazz. The two worked and played together many times over both of their careers, and both made some of the largest impacts on the world of jazz.

Where are we Now
We could sit here all day and talk about the past, but where are we now? Who are the one's today creating and inspiring young Musicians.
Bossa UhBossa Uh was released in 2019 on the album Ivy League. One of my favorite songs to listen in the car, Bosaa uh has an amazing blend of old sax licks and newer trap beats. My favorite part is the use of natural white noise as background of the piano solo.

kamasi washington Kamasi is also a newer artist into the jazz world but has already made a huge impact on the jazz scene. Washington plays anything from classic standards in his own newer style, to old classical piano ballads. Washington is truly one of the new greatest artists today to add to ever changing musical category we call jazz.

Clair de LuneOriginally composed in 1905 by Claude Debussy for piano. Washington released his version of Clair de lune in 2015 along with the rest of the album The Epic. It is truly worth it to listen to the whole song.
